When we collect information
We collect no information from you unless you voluntarily provide it. - When you place an order online - When you place an order in one of our retail stores - When you return an item - When you receive a gift sent by someone else - When you create an account with username and password.
What information we collect
Your name, user ID and password you create - Your shipping, billing and email addresses - your telephone number, if provided by you - Using secure SSL technology our credit card processor temporarily captures your credit card information, including account number, expiration date and three-digit security code for immediate encrypted transmission on to your bank. This information is not stored on our servers. Statistical information collected - When you browse our site we collect anonymous statistical information on which pages on our web site you visit, but it is not associated with your identity or your order.
Purposes we use this information for
To confirm your order by email - To discuss with you the availability of products you order either by email or telephone - To process your order and receive payment - To ship products to you - To notify you of shipment via email - To email or telephone you in the event there is a problem with your credit card, in making delivery to you, or in replying to a request you may have made. - To keep a record of products you have purchased so that you will have access to that information in the future. Turtle Old Man will NOT use your email address for any future marketing purposes or new solicitations.
What information we share with others
Under no circumstances does Turtle Old Man sell, license or share any of your personal information with any other company for marketing purposes. We do contract with other companies to provide credit card processing and shipping. Our credit card processing is done through First Data Corporation or one of its financial subsidiaries. Shipping is done with United Parcel Service unless Federal Express or the U.S. Postal Service is specifically requested. We only give these companies the information they absolutely need to obtain payment for us or to deliver merchandise to you. We expect that these companies will not use this information for their own marketing purposes and will not share this information with anyone else. Of course, their privacy policies may differ from ours. We will disclose information in response to a lawful written request issued by a court, government agency or regulatory authority with the jurisdiction to make that request.
Cookies and pixel tags
Turtle Old Man does not use cookies that are stored on your hard drive. We may use a session cookie, which is not placed on your hard drive. A session cookie allows us to keep track of the items in your shopping cart and other session information. This cookie will expire with time or disappear when you close your browser. It is not stored on your computer. Turtle Old Man does NOT use pixel tags, or small graphic images, to tell us other sites you may have visited.
Security
It is our policy to handle your credit card information and personal data with the highest standards of safety, security, and confidentiality. We make every effort to protect against the loss, destruction, or misuse of the information you have provided. Turtle Old Man uses industry standard Thawte SSL secured technology to encrypt all sensitive information you provide in our shopping cart. Absolutely no financial information is stored on our servers, but is encrypted and securely "pushed through" to our credit card processor for secured transmission to your bank.
